Electrical install - Upgrades - Setup
Servo and Receiver Installed
I have taken the servo out of the CX and put it straight into the CXL complete with the receiver still attached. I have also fitted the aluminium servo mounts and the violet ariel tube holder . The servo is a Savox low profile which has had the lead to the receiver shortened so it looks neat and tidy .
OTM Steering installed
OTM steering assembly installed. Again I have taken this straight out of the CX. I know the CXL steering is as close to the OTM as it can be but I felt I owed it to the designer of the OTM to use it . Also I am fitting the violet turnbuckles from the CX ( I just don't like the gold ones )
Narrow front hexs fitted
Narrow front hexs fitted and the suspentson blocks spaced out to compensate , This is the prefered setup used by most of the " Team Drivers " which improves the front end of the car.
Violet titanium turnbuckles fitted
Violet titanium turnbuckles fitted. Again these have come off my CX so the end cups are a perfect fit on the ball studs . This is just a visual preference by me .Although using the old slightly worn ends mean the suspension is free straight away. It did feel a bit sticky with the brand new ones on when I built it.
Camber and front wheels alined
Front and back camber set to 2deg negative all round . Front toe set to 1deg out. Rear toe set to 2 1/2 deg toe in. Droop set to 4.5 & 4.8 on 10 mm blocks . Ride height set to 5.5 front and rear front plate raised to 1.5mm under . Roll bars checked and working perfectly. Shock lengths checked and are all the same . All suspension moves freely and without binding . Drive train as smooth as it should be . Transmitter and ESC set . I think we are all ready to race .
All Electrics installed
Speed Passion GT2.0 Pro installed and connected to the Corally Pro Red 13.5 motor ( This motor will be replaced with a GM Pro as soon as I get it back off my mate ) .
It's not my best install ever BUT I have seen a lot worse .
Ready to go
Just needs a custom painted shell and it will be sorted.
Latest Mods to the CXL
Side View of this great split aluminium pully which bolts either side of the spur geaar alowing you another option of the distance inboard for the motor and also allowing a geared diff to be installed in the front of the car and still have the belts running true .
Steering post Mod
