Below is my New Bodyshell " EastCoast M-Speed 6 Spec 09 "
East Coast EC168M609 . Click the picture to be directed to where you can buy these shells .
The first stages of my new shell mounted on the chassis so I can mark out the body post holes. I prefer to mount the shell completely before spraying including cutting out for the wheels as I find its more accurate than after painting .
Bottom of shell trimmed & holes marked ready to ream out for the body posts .
Its easy to mark the holes from a Schumacher chassis due to the type of body posts used .
It is best to apply the window masks directly after washing and drying the shell. And it's also best to spray the shell as soon as you can as well .. Don't leave the masks on any longer than you need to . Also it's best if the shell and paint are at the same room tempreature ! If you try to spray a cold shell with warm paint it won't work ..
Whilst you are waiting for the paint to dry between coats it's a good idea to sort out and cut out your sponsors logos & the other decals that will make your car stand out and look professional ! Don't just cover it with the decals that came with the shell or with a ESC just because you have them !! Put on what you want to advertise .
Final stages and the stage I love but hate at the same time !! I hate covering up the lovely chrome and I also hate it when you have ran out of the decals you had planned to put on !!!! I need a large Akula Racing logo and two large Modeltech logos for the shell ... No point sticking something on just for the hell of it, I'll have to wait ..
