Schumacher SST Sport restoration project
What it should look like

I may need a little help with this project from my racing mates .............
I should point out that the car I have been given is an SST Sport Rally,
mine was the Touring Car , I am sure the only difference is the shock length ......

This is a project I have been wanting to do for a while .I Started racing in 2000 with yes, you guesed it, a Schumacher SST Sport .
I have been looking for one to put on the shelf in the workshop for a while now.
I have been given one today by a racing mate at my
local club .Thanks Tristan
It needs a good clean up to start with so I can see what's there and more to the point what is missing !
I know I need a few things already, these being a motor , ESC , bodyshell , servo and a stick pack
from the year 2000 to recreate my first touring car.
I know I used a Schumacher ESC and motor that had pink stickers on them I think
possibly (G983C) Sport power set or (G984D) Race power set .
I also know my shell was the BTCC Volvo S40 part number U5067V
If anyone has any of the above please let me know
some one has to have the electrics knocking around in the bottom of a pit box somewhere.
Thanks

The Box is still in good condition .
The car needs a good clean to start with .
I have found a motor !!!
I have had a great start to this project finding the right motor !! . And the cleaning up of the old car is going well too .
The Stripdown has begun
I have started to take apart the SST. It's all there and complete and I have found the original plastic shocks in a bag in the box as well so they will be going back on .
The chassis has a lot of scratches on it but this won't matter as I am not trying to make a perfect Shelf Queen, just a good representation of my first R/C Car .

Back End it was a basic car with the toe-in set by solid links
The Front , Not even a Foam Bumper on the Sport Model
More work has been done Photos to follow soon
We now have a Brand new Futaba Servo installed
I have a Body shell its not the exact one but it is from the same year or there abouts ( A BTCC 406 saloon )
I have an origonal stick pack baterry waiting to be heat shrink rapped .
I have found the exact wheels and tyres i used on Ebay ( just a case of buying them )
Still looking for the ESC which I now know to be a Schumacher Matrix .
I have also been given an old SST from a friend so ill be stripping this down when i can and swoping parts over to the restoration car , Many Thanks to Bryan Loynes .

The rear end as it should be

The rear end now restored with touring car parts as you can see if you
compair the photo to the left of the rear to the earlier one above the shocks are shorter and the shock tower is lower .
These would not have been the origanal shocks as the kit ones would have been plastic But I did upgrade my first car to these shocks as well so they do belong on my restored SST .

Reciver Installed

Thats the Reciver installed and it is in fact my origonal
from my first ever rc car which we are trying to recreate here.
Its need in many different cars over the last 14 years mainly my sons
cars and buggys so its seen some action but still works perfectly.
As you can see the stick pack still needs to be covered in heat shrink
I just haven't got arount to getting it done yet , this may have to be my next stage of the restoration as finding the ESC is proving to be harder
than I thought it was going to be .
I am going to change the top deck for the one off of my donar car as well as its in better condition and unmarked.
