Shock Building DIY Tool

Making your own shock pump is one of the simplest home made tools that you can make
and for a small amount of money compaired to buying the purpose made Tool .

What you will need is :-
1 A fishing pellet pump , these are avalable on ebay and come in varius colours and styles ( Mine cost £6.45 delivered )
2 something to make a stand out of for the shocks to sit in this can be anything thats strong but easy to cut and drill.
3 About 30 minutes of spare time to build it .

Below is a step by Step guide to how I built mine BUT the internals can be made of anything you can find

A small sheet of Cordec

Cut out the Cordec to the internal
size of your pump and make 4
holes in it the size of your shock
body so when you put your shock in the spring retaining
ring sits on top of the cordec.
This part can be made out of
anything you can find .

This could have been made out
of any top of an areosol can
then just cut the 4 holes into it ,
or a piece of MDF works well with just a cross of MDF underneath to support the top.

Sit your stand inside the Pump

Your Completed Pump is ready to use , Just rebuild your shocks in the usual way , When you place the new oil in fill up your shock body then sit it in the  Pump when all 4 are in there ( you can do 1 , 2 , 3 or 4 it doesn't matter ) Place the lid on the pump and pump all the air out ........ Then be amazed as your shock oil turnes white within the pump !! this is the air  being sucked out of the inside of the shocks !!!! When the oil clears between 30 sec to 3 mins depending on the thickness of your oil your shocks are ready to finish building ......... Good Luck
